A few weeks back we spoke to Tanya Zania about Melbourne's March Against Monsanto event, held as part of a global day of activism against our favourite corporate citizen. We spoke to Tan again today, to wonder why the quite successful rally wasn't reported at all by Melbourne's media (but it turns out we did crack a small report in a Russian newspaper!). We also spoke about ADM's recent purchase of a share of Australia's Grain Corp.
Shane Delia has had a huge few months; he's about to become the sole owner of his popular Melbourne restaurant Maha, and the first series of his excellent Spice Journey television series is just finishing up on SBS. He joined us in the studio to talk about the food history of Malta, his travels around Iran, and some of his favourite ingredients.
Lastly good buddy Sebastian Reaburn visited to mix us a drink, and talk about cocktails that changed the world. He spoke about New York's iconic Milk & Honey, and how this has set the trend for many contemporary bars such as The Everleigh in Melbourne. He also spoke about the re-emergence of Tiki culture, and the defining features of bar culture in Japan.contemporary bars such as The Everleigh in Melbourne.
